Providing Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment for Children and Youth Who Have Experienced Trauma- Online Series

How do we learn to be a trauma therapist for children and youth? It first starts with building the foundations to conceptualize this journey and pique your interest in what it means and looks like to assess and treat trauma with children and youth. This training will provide you with foundational and comprehensive knowledge and skills to enhance your journey into this specialization. This training is geared to professionals who are able to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy.

What is the structure of the Spring Training? This live virtual training is a series that includes 6 training days from April to June 2023. All training days will run from 9:30am to 4:00pm with regulation breaks throughout the day. There is an expectation that people will register and attend the entire series. You will receive a certificate of completion once you have attended all 6 training days and continuing education credits from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are available to those who complete the 6 days.

The training will include a didactic presentation, opportunities for discussion, multimedia, breakout groups, take-home materials and tools, and resources to further your learning. Participants are invited to participate in the training with their cameras on.

For your care and consideration: Examples of case scenario content may be discussed for the purpose of application and learning. We are offering participants a chance to engage with the material in a manner that supports their own personal well-being. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, please take a few minutes, and rejoin the workshop when you are ready.

Post-training support: The Radius Training Institute is happy to meet with you and/or your team subsequent to the completion of this training series in order answer any further questions, assist you or your team with integrating the training content into practice within your work environment. As well, if your organization is interested in having the Radius Training Institute support the creation and development of a clinical and trauma-focused Community of Practice subsequent to this training series in order to support the integration of ongoing learning and developing specialization, contact us!
