The Research Team is currently engaged in multiple exciting research projects. One of the projects was developed by Radius’ Clinical Director, Bente Skau. Together, we are investigating what victims of sexual abuse want to happen to the perpetrator. With this study, we hope to fill a knowledge gap, as there is only one published study on this topic.
The findings from this study may inform clinical practice by revealing clinicians’ treatment of clients regarding the following;
- Discrepancies or similarities between victims desired consequences for their perpetrator versus consequences assigned to perpetrators
- Victims’ interest in contact with their perpetrator
- Who victims blame for the abuse
Currently, the data for the study has been collected, and we look forward to disseminating the findings of the project in the new year.
Stay tuned for other Research at Radius that will be highlighted in future issues.
