Quality and safety are integral to Radius’ vision, mission, and values. Attention to quality and safety ensures that our services, actions, and relationships remain in line with our goal of building a future free from abuse, neglect, and violence.
Radius continuously monitors and evaluates the quality and safety of our services to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care. We proactively use data to identify issues that may benefit from procedural changes to enhance the quality and safety of our services. Regular quality improvement projects help us establish benchmarks and set targets to work toward.

What is Quality?
As a core provider of child and youth mental health services in Ontario, Radius’s priorities, goals and initiatives are guided by internationally recognized frameworks of quality health care systems. Specifically, we aim to provide services that are:
We respect your needs, preferences, and values, and involve you in decisions about your care.
Our services do not cause any harm to individuals and families.
We use tools and techniques that are proven to work.
We provide seamless transitions throughout our services and within the broader health care system.
Whenever possible, we provide services within a reasonable time frame.
We ensure equal access to our services, regardless of who you are or where you are from.

Quality and Safety Committee
All Radius personnel are committed to providing quality care. Radius’ Quality and Safety Committee is composed of staff and management from across the organization to ensure that no area of service is overlooked. The Quality and Safety Committee meets monthly to monitor and discuss the overall quality of services, recommend new projects and goals, and prepare Radius’ annual quality improvement plan. If you would like to report a quality or safety issue to the committee, please contact experience@radiuscys.ca.

Quality Improvement Activities

Annual Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
Every year, Radius will develop a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). The QIP is our formal commitment to providing high quality services. Specifically, the QIP is a workplan for monitoring and improving the quality of our services by setting focused targets and actions. Targets in our QIP are aligned with system and provincial priorities. A copy of Radius’ 2022/23 QIP can be seen HERE.

Client Experience Survey (CES)
Radius regularly collects feedback from the children, adolescents, and caregivers using our Client Experience Survey (CES). The CES is a brief survey that asks respondents to rate their experiences at Radius. Surveys are collected anonymously to ensure that clients and families feel free to share their open and honest opinions of the work that we do. If you are currently a Radius client or the caregiver of a child or adolescent in our services and would like to fill out this survey, please email experience@radiuscys.ca.
