October 27 is #DressPurpleDay2020

Every October, Radius has dressed purple in support of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The 2020 campaign is more important than ever, since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases has increased risk for the well-being and safety of vulnerable children, youth and families.

COVID-19 can lead to an increase in risk factors surrounding mental health, intimate partner violence, and maltreatment of children and youth. Ontarians in need of help are encouraged to reach out to services in their community, including Radius, or if they know a young person or family in need of support.

#DressPurpleDay2020 offers an opportunity to remind Ontarians that organizations like Radius are open and providing services, and that if they have a concern about the safety or well-being of a child or youth or their family is in need of support to reach out to our Intake Coordinator at: 647.324.8177.

Although our staff will be physically distanced this year, we will be wearing purple on October 27 and sharing how we help children, youth, and families facing challenges.
