The recommendations from the assessment will guide the development of a unique counselling plan for you. Counselling means you are working on addressing problems, worries, or concerns you have in your life. Unlike an assessment, where you just describe the problem(s), counselling is the work that is done to help you with the problem.
We Specialize in…
Children and youth up to 18 years of age who have experienced sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, neglect, or witnessed intimate partner violence.
Children under 12 who have engaged in concerning sexual behaviour.
Youth 12 to 18 (up to 19 for youth involved with Youth Justice) who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviour.
For families who have been separated as a result of one individual having sexually abused a child or youth in the family. Reunification counselling starts after both people have been involved in their own individual counselling.
Types of Counselling Offered:

Individual Counselling:
Individual counselling is a way in which you can come to understand yourself, your strengths and challenges, and changes you might like to make.

Family Work:
We value families as well as an individual’s support system. We recognize that many of the important changes which take place for a child or youth occur at home and not in the therapy room. Family work does not always mean that the whole family must sit down together and talk. It means that we consider the relationships with others who are important to you.

Group Counselling:
You may be invited to participate in groups based on your needs. We currently offer groups specifically geared to children and youth who have experienced sexual abuse, youth who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviour, and parents of youth who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviour. Each group is made up of people well suited to work with, support, and help each other.
