The 2021 Tournament of Hope!

The annual  Tournament of Hope will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Piper’s Heath Golf Course. Safety measures including scheduled tee times, contactless registration and gourmet food stations are on course in place of a banquet, and to ensure that everyone has a great day of golf. We wouldn’t be able to put on an event like the Tournament of Hope without our Organizing Committee. Meet them below:

The biggest reason for joining the committee for the Tournament of Hope is helping the victims of abuse.  If the money raised by the Tournament of Hope reduces a victims wait time than “let’s go raise some money”.  The community that supports the organization is wonderful.  The volunteers have been working effectively to increase awareness for the tournament.  Unfortunately, in the past year Radius has seen referrals for their services triple. I believe the Tournament of Hope gives those that suffer from abuse hope of a brighter and safer future.  Until the numbers change dramatically, children will continue to wait for help. Please join me in supporting Radius.  Let us make a difference in an abused child’s mental health by showing support for this Tournament.

I decided to join Radius first and foremost because the preservation of childhood innocence is a cause that everyone can embrace. Helping in the facilitation of a golf tournament which allows for additional children to seek and receive help in both preventing and coping with varying forms of abuse is to me synonymous with making the subsequent generation of the world a slightly better place.

Margaret is a dedicated advocate and administrator who offers the right balance of guidance and autonomy to allow the event to flourish, traits which give individuals like myself the opportunity to make a difference. It seems to be a great fit and I look forward to many more years at Radius.

My name is Lauren, my background is in Sales & Marketing and I have lots of experience in Sponsorships and Event Planning, which also happens to be my passion. I joined the Radius team earlier this year when I found myself with some extra time since losing my job to Covid-19. This pandemic has given me the opportunity to really find what is important to me and how I want to spend my time in future. That included volunteering where I can use my skills to better my community. I have attended a few Radius events and respected how well they were put together as well as the amazing team behind them. I grew up in Oakville, so it seems fitting for me to work with a great team to help raise money for our children and youth most in need!

As a mother and grandmother who also care about the wellbeing of all children and youth in the community, how can I not support Radius Child and Youth Services? Early intervention by trained professionals pays a lasting dividend in the lives of children and youth who have been affected by abuse, neglect and interpersonal violence. Please join me in supporting this amazing charity.

I support Radius because I believe that anyone in need should have the resources available to get better and, as a father, that children are our most precious resource. The Tournament of Hope is a great way to support a great cause and you can contribute just by getting out on the course with a few friends. Hope to see you there!

I support Radius because child abuse and neglect area bigger issue than most people realize. Throughout the pandemic, Radius has seen a staggering increase in referrals. They continue to provide life changing mental health services both virtually and in-person. Radius opens its doors to children and youth, providing essential mental health services and really changing lives. The Tournament of Hope is a fantastic way to support this great cause.

The TOURNAMENT OF HOPE is essential to support the children, youth and families we serve in our local communities.
